Sanctuary Advisory Council Recruitment

We are currently accepting applications for seven positions on the Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary (OCNMS) Advisory Council. The available seats are:

  • Conservation - alternate position
  • Education - primary and alternate positions
  • Fishing - primary position
  • Maritime Recreation - primary position
  • Tourism and Economic Development - primary and alternate positions

The deadline for applications is Monday, February 16, 2026.

Candidates are selected based on their expertise and experience in relation to the seat for which they are applying, community and professional affiliations, and views regarding the protection and management of marine resources. Applicants who are chosen should expect to serve a three-year term. Primary seats represent a certain agency, tribe, user, or stakeholder group. Alternate seats fill a particular seat in the absence of the primary seat.
