Rockfish in Kelp Forest

Kelp forests form one of the most important habitats in the shallow waters just offshore. Much like old-growth forests on the land, they create structure and a multitude of habitats for many species of invertebrates and fishes (like the rockfish you see in the exhibit). In addition, they are critical for the survival of sea otters.
